While
western-looked half-blood artists have occupied Thailand’s
entertainment scene for years, these two little girls, WhaWha
(Thai-Taiwanese) and Bell (Thai-Chinese), could still bring
their orient looks up to the top. Because of their talents
in singing and dancing, Bell and WhaWha launched their first
album, “Muay Ni Kha (I’m a Chinese Girl!!!)”,
which was full of dance and cheerful songs in 1999. Their
music became popular very quickly among teenagers, and of
course, among those Chinese-looked folks. One year later,
they came back again with a special album “China Guan”
to welcome Chinese New Year for year 2000. This time they
have united with a very famous D.J., Samapol Piyapongsiri,
who is always proud of his Chinese root, and together, they
had a chance to perform in Asia 2000 Music Festival, which
was co-organized by Thailand and Japan. Today, China Dolls
are not only well-known in Thailand, but they have also spreaded
their names to other countries in Asia through their special
albums in Mandarin language.
